Wait for the carnage
« on: May 14, 2009, 02:08:37 PM »
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8049365.stm

Kensington and Chelsea council is spending £25m to improve traffic flow by transforming Exhibition Road into the largest shared space in the UK.
Traffic is expected to slow to 20mph in the shared space area, which will stretch for 800m and will not have any kerbs or pedestrian crossings.

That will be relying on responsible drivers to see pedestrians and think they 'should' slow down and 'share' this space  in a hugely busy area abundant with tourists who haven't got a clue what's going on  noooo:

Injury lawyers for you will be building a satellite office there as we speak  noooo:

Saw it on the news earlier on.

There were protests about the first use of this.

I can see the people at Ambulance Chasers 4U getting out the luxury goods catalogues. in preparation for their massive increase in income.  noooo:

Plenty of things work well on the continent but cock up here, like responsible 24 hour drinkng.
