Does anyone take them anymore? When I say take them I mean subscribed to a monthly/weekly delivery of a magazine?
I remember having a comic as a kid and the one after that was probably Private Eye with the occasional flirtation to some others.

Currently I am getting a couple of unsolicited trade mags on a regular basis, very glossy and upmarket for which I pay not a penny  Shrugs: plus the magazines related to membership of a couple of museums. The latest of which has a nekked lady on the front  eeek:

I wonder that with access to online versions these will sadly become a thing of the past much like newspapers  rubschin:

The Brat was subscribed to a couple of magazines - usual tat for young girls, with collectable pink and glittery things that you store in a 'special ' presentation box after about 3000 editions  noooo:

But I cancelled those several years ago.

I did subscribe to a puter one for a while but never read them and just decided it would be better just to buy the ones I wanted  Shrugs:

I now just get bombarded with reminders and special offers to subscribe once more  evil:

Well one you won't get solicited about, and I think they've hacked into a national database, is effing Saga  evil:  I get mail from them about every fortnight promoting Insurance, their effing magazine, their effing holidays... the lot  ::)

The ones that do arrive now receive a common treatment:

Hold by the spine firmly over the waste basket and shake until all the freebie postcards, promotions etc have fallen  lol:

I get fast Bikes and SuperBike magazine monthly, although I may well stop doing so as there are rarely any good articles these days.

I receive a couple of quarterlies associated with membership of societies and, of course, I edit and publish a community magazine for this area. I have no intention of making that available on-line after an unscientific survey conducted by me (basically I asked some people what they thought of the idea) overwhelmingly came down on the side of "But we don't have a computer".
Other than that I cancelled my subscription to Private Eye some couple of years ago because it seemed like the only way they would ever publish a letter from me
"Sir,
I cannot disagree strongly enough with your article etc ...... I am cancelling my subscription immediately.
Yours faithfully
Snoopy"

Such letters, it seemed to me, got published so I thought I would do it as a laugh ~ they didn't publish my letter but they did cancel the subscription eeek: ~ So I thought "Sod 'em" and didn't renew it.
