A survey of 2,000 people found that 36 per cent admitted to lying about their age. A similar number said they often lied about how much they drank on a night out with younger drinkers exaggerating how much they had, while older people were more likely to play down how much they consumed.
More than a third of people (34 per cent) also said they lied about their sexual history with three in 10 men saying they exaggerated the number of people they have slept with, with women more likely to reduce the figure.
People also admitted telling lies on their CV and exaggerating how much they were paid and almost a quarter said they would phone in sick when they wanted a day off.

I don't really lie about my age and am probably quite honest about how little I drink  whistle:  - my biggest deceptions would probably be about how much I spend on certain things  angel1

I am sure none of you are economical with the truth in any way  happy001

Nah ~ she really tries and I know how hard it is to struggle with weight problems.

Do I lie about things?  rubschin: Not much at all. Sometimes tell the kids some creation or other artistic endeavour of theirs is wonderful whilst thinking "how can I get rid of this crap without them noticing"

Used to lie, more by omission than anything about other wimmin when my now ex was a current wife but then does that really count as lies? I used to think of it as sparing her the anguish ~ commendable really ~ put like that  angel1

I can still remember lying about liberating a battery from Woolies about 12 yrs old, one of those dare things that school kids used to get up to  ::)
