Mrs Thatcher gets the blame
« on: May 26, 2009, 08:03:55 AM »
It seems that in the eyes of many Mrs T is now the one to be blamed for the current excesses of the expense claims abusers because she was in office when the idea of allowances to help defray the expenses of running two homes came into being.
Now I accept that Maggie was not everyone's cup of tea but she did much for this country that Blair and Brown have taken 12 years to unpick and I really cannot see how she can be blamed for the likes of Gorbals Mick, who ultimately controls the "House of Commons Authorities" that have approved all the irregular and excessive claims.
Lady Thatcher is now an elderly lady suffering Alzheimer's  ~ leave her out of it and concentrate your hate on those truly responsible. One thing is for certain, Our Blessed Lady of Finchley would NEVER have allowed matters to reach this state.

Whatever you say about her, and Mr Wench has plenty to say, I don't believe she would have allowed this sort of ridiculousness to occur. She did seem to believe that a public servant was just that.
