Hypothetically...

If you found a bottle of unopened Chivas Regal 12 y/o which had been locked away in a cupboard for twenty odd years would it now be an extremely desirous 30+ y/o or should I pour it down the drain...?

It is the same age as when it was bottled. Whiskey does not age further by being left in a bottle ~ it is aged in the cask.

My recommendation would be to drink it ~ if you like Chivas Regal ~ which I do not. Blended whiskey  sick2:

It does however make radio-controlled planes go well, and smell nicer.
