Caroline Flint has resigned as Gordon Brown is giving a press conference ~ last night she said she wouldn't do so ~ presumably miffed that she didn't get a better job in the reshuffle.

Thinking on his feet he has said that Mrs Kinnock will be elevated to the Lords to take on Caroline Flint's job as European Minister. At this rate most of his fecking Cabinet will be unelected members of the Lords.

I've given up on Radio Five and am listening to the 20/20 cricket from Lords. Tell me if Gordon calls on Brenda before the match is over.

Two Labour candidates in Gosport were even beaten by punk-rocker Fungus Addams, from the marginal English Democrats party, who freely admitted to having 'no chance of winning'.

Here are the results from the Gosport Leesland and Town ward.
Two seats are up for grabs.

Fungus Addams, English Democrats, 972

Christopher Carter, Conservative, 3,802

* Peter Edgar, Conservative, 4,502

Graham Giles, Labour, 781

* Keith Gill, Lib Dem, 1,566

Brian Hart, Independent, 1,085

Terry Mitchell, Green, 981

George Morby, Lib Dem, 1,193

Jock Train, Labour, 619
