Of course ~ half the Welsh Language you see on the signs was invented at Aberysthwyth University in the sixties and seventies.
Ancient language my arse!

Do you believe that the Ancient Celts who make up the ancestors locally to me actually had a word like Teleffon? The most sense I have heard on the subject was from a local farmer's wife who runs classes for those who want to learn Welsh. I asked her what she called a Microwave ~ her answer was............. "A Microwave of course".
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Having been at work at a polling station all day there was absolutely no doubt which way it was going to go if most of them had there way  - mind you a very affluent / rich area so no real surprises there then  noooo:

Bizarre happenings of the day - we had a party of 12 men from China being sent to us from the Electoral Commission to 'observe' the process. Without prior notification I hasten to add  evil:.  Like what the feck are they interested in democracy for  noooo: - when they were looking at the form and saw more than 1 choice they were baffled.

They stood in a huddle of black suits and white shirts for an hour or so and spent most of the time nodding without actually saying anything whilst the translator attempted to ask questions. Then they tried to present me with a gift for my co-operation - trying to explain to the translator that I couldn't accept without offending them was impossible. I don't think I will be welcome in China any time soon  Shrugs:
