I was wondering that. Perhaps it's a special division the police force or summat

"The flashing squad"?

More likely

"The Serious Friction Office Orifice"  eeek:

There all nicely corrected for you DS.

I have indeed been on an expedishun.
Took The THW to her interview at College of Further Ed in Wrexham. She has a "Conditional Offer" to study Geology, Philosophy and two other subjects. One she wants to do is Photography which involves a further interview and submission of a project to be completed by next week. Apparently there are only 6 places and 50+ applicants so they are looking for a small portfolio along prescribed lines to see who has "the eye" and who does not. Other subjects will depend on GCSE results. I have recommended English and Maths as being sensible things to at least get an A level in but apparently I know nothing!
However the expedishun used up most of my day.

She has yet to say thank-you but Hey!  shrugs:  That's par for the course.

I have not had my todger caught in my chain, or anyone else's chain for that matter, in some considerable time.

THW is right for once. If she has GCSE English and Maffs at A*-C that will suffice. The A level is not necessary

The first camera she has ever handled she has had since we gave her a Canon Digital for her birthday on 1st June (two weeks ago)

They have asked for a portfolio containing 6 7x5s and a contact sheet of 36 exposures.

She doesn't know what a contact sheet is  Banghead But will she take advice?

We have a complete darkroom kit including an enlarger in the garage (her mother used to be heavy into photography in a previous life) + more fecking 35mm cameras that you can shake a stick at, various lenses (zoom, fisheye, micro, wide angle etc) as well as £500 of Minolta digital that I use for the magazine and one of those Roliflex jobs that takes black and white pictures in a square format.

The portfolio (remember she is in competition for one of only six places and they have 50+ applicants) has to be themed on a person or people "at work or play". She plans to take "some snaps of XXXXXX (her boyfriend) working on his computer" and submit them.

She hasn't a snowball's chance but wants to do it "on a whim" ~ until last week she wanted to do History and Archeology but she has fallen out of love with the teacher she had leading up to the GCSEs and has "spoiled her paper" in protest!
