A forum of bitterness
« on: June 23, 2009, 06:59:49 AM »
http://www.wikivorce.com/divorce/Divorce-Forum/General-Non-Divorce/33450-Re-Wiki.html

Wikivorce is an online support group for those going through the misery of divorce. The site has been set up by Ian Rispin who found himself, after 17 years of marriage, without a wife, his car and, most importantly, his son.

After spending thousands of pounds in legal fees, he saw a need on the internet for a site which offers practical advice for those who are facing the looming threat of a divorce. The site now has 3,000 visitors a day.

You can use the step-by-step guide to DIY divorce, free court forms, easy ways to calculate your assets and child maintenance obligations, lists of recommended solicitors and so on.

But what is most revealing is the online forum which allows you to vent your spleen in a cyber howl of anguish.

Can't access it from work - bugger  evil:

A litre of vodka, a bottle of sleeping pills and a Leonard Cohen LP probably does more good.

I got told off for suggesting him as music on hold for the Samaritans.

Apparently I am "insensitive and callous".

The reply that I never sing female opera parts earned me a slap.  redface:

Just had a quick look at this, found it quite interesting. Not really bitter.
Most people were asking for help & advice.
I couldn't ask for better friends. I could ask for more NORMAL friends, but not better ones.

Should be compulsory reading for anyone contemplating marriage.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Leonard Cohen is far too cheerful for my liking. Bet he's got a silver car, too...

Mrs Nick and I were sitting in a hotel lobby in Toronto about 2 years ago and Cohen walked past. Mrs Nick met his gaze.

She then said:

"I have just had sex with Leonard Cohen."

This may explain the reason why your own aspirations are not met if that is all she needs.
