Miss D is hitting the nail right on your head there BM ~ that's how I come and go too.
Anyway I have reset her password and emailed it to her so that she can get in and change the one I have given her to something she will remember.
I understand that...  ::)

But why do you need the passwerd to change avatart...?  Shrugs:

Because the machinery so ably cobbled together by your good self and a lot of evostick demands that you give of your password from time to time. It shut me out completely the other day until I put in my password. Now it asks for it every third or fourth attempt at entry ~ on the other occasions it simply supplies a row of dots for me to accept. Sometimes the dots are "not recognised" and other times they are. I don't make a scene, I simply re-enter the password and move on.

Anyway what does it matter ~ She (barmisspah?) thought she needed it and could not remember what it was. I did what anyone else would do and gave her a temporary password to enable her to get in and out and change the temp to a permanent and memorable one when she wishes.
Keep your hair on!  lol:

It never asks me for a password except for when entering the Secret Administration area...  ::)

Look all I wanted to do was download a piccy from some I have saved on my computer, not a prblem you might think. But no I have to put in a http whatnot, with a URL with knobs on. Then it started asking for my password. Christ on a bike I only wanted to change a picture not get into the Star Wars mainframe ! lol

Thanks for your help Snoopy.
I couldn't ask for better friends. I could ask for more NORMAL friends, but not better ones.

You can't download pictures any more... they have to be 'hosted' elsewhere...  noooo:

Is this another improvement? What further delights await us in the VP's brave new world?

If you save a piccy to your PC you can upload it as normal. Same with Avatars as barmisspah? was trying to do.
Otherwise you are posting a link to the picture that is hosted elsewhere on the ineternet. It works for me.
I don't quite understand what BM is on about;
Demo:
Piccy of my Great Aunt, scanned from the original, save on my desktop and now posted here.

What Barman is on about is this....

If you remember, a short while ago this site was hacked and a virus inserted.

We discovered that the culprit had uploaded an avatart with code attached which compromised the security of the board.

After re-installing the entire board and database we made a decision that no avatarts could be uploaded by users. They have to be hosted elsewhere like Photobucket for instance.

It doesn't however affect the 'uploading' of images as they are also hosted elsewhere.

Capishe?

To be honest I have never done it any other way. Avatar is stored on my Desk Top. But then I don't keep trying to change it like some.

As for all this smiting ~ frankly it is not working well at all is it?

I don't see the difference apart from the use of the word "Photobucket"
