A friend's coming over to see me today i.e. making a trip to London. He's just let me know he can't face the tube in this heat so he's driving in.  rubschin:

And what is this thing with pianos littering the London streets? I passed three people playing them (badly)

Quote
Touring internationally since 2008, ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ is an artwork by artist Luke Jerram (Read about).

Presented for Sing London and the City of London Festival, 30 street pianos have been installed on streets, in public squares and parks, train stations, and markets. Like a creative blank canvas, the pianos are there for any member of the public to play and engage with. The pianos will be in place until July 13th, after which time they’ll be donated to local schools and community groups.

I thought everyone knew about this ~ it was on "Today" some weeks ago.

I pass the one at Devonshire Square to and from from work. There's often someone plinking away.

I think it's a great idea.

And from that do we deduce that you would not like to see elderly Jews playing Chess in the streets of Prague because they are not "Grand Masters"?

Come on Nick ~ lighten up. If the only person to derive pleasure is the bad pianist it is still a good thing ~ you can always walk on by.
