Ok so we've now been notched up to a level 3 heatwave alert ( no jacket required ) and all the advice about how to 'cope' in these conditions is spewing forth.
Paint your house white - ( we have mentioned this before I know
)
Keep out of the sun - ( sheer bloody genius that one )
Change your dress - ( loose fitting clothing etc )
Shut the windows in the daytime - ( letting hot air in etc)
Plant some foliage - pop a palm tree in front of your house and it will soon be blocking out the sun
Bowls of water - leave bowls of water around ( evaporation aiding the cooling down process- but guaranteed to be tipped over by children and pets)
Drink well - not a problem
Insulate - lofts and cavities to keep heat out
Relax - my favourite and this should involve not going to work
Of course you could just move to Scotland where such things will never be a problem
It's a likkle bit hot - it tends to do that in the summer ( although not every summer) , always has done always will
