"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

I meant to tell you about all the holes they drill in asphalt here... I'll take some pictures...

Basically, when they have laid a road (or re-surfaced) they cut two ~4" diameter cores out of it all over the place... presumably for testing purposes...? Shrugs:

They then leave the holes open so they fill up with shite....  noooo:

Asphalt cores , and yes used for testing. Others are taken years later to show deterioration of the uppermost surface and any deterioration in the lower layers

To prove that there are 'x' mm's of each layer, that full compaction took place, that tack-coat(glue) was applied between the layers before the council (or Cyprus equivalent) take it over, otherwise it may fall apart shortly after being adopted. Oh, and they should of course infill them with proper material

They never fill them in...  noooo:

And they seem to spray tack coat (I thought it was called emulsion?) just about everywhere except where they are about to lay the stuff....
