Wrong imho and dumb but looks like a business driven solution that if they are going after the Halal likers in some areas then that won't work if such see bacon on the menu. 

One of the good things about Subway imho is they cater for so many preferences so well and (imho again) someone that is denied their bacon on a visit is unlikely to return to the chain wherever.  I'll still go to Subway but not the Halal ones, luckily the brilliant one near Old Trafford isn't.

Interesting that their press release http://www.subway.co.uk/media/news/halal-stores.aspx doesn't say owt about bacon.

That'd have been the tip of the tip of the iceberg in terms of investment needed

Running a franchise all too often isn't a job, isn't even a way of life as much as a way into an early grave
