I got offered a subway franchise for 5k years ago and said no......... sad24:

That'd have been the tip of the tip of the iceberg in terms of investment needed

Could give a new perspective to the phrase "Thar she blows...."  rubschin:

I know that my reply is an AFF's but am pretty sure that most of you will have forgotten.......... cloud

In 1973/4 I was in my early teens and lived close to the Northumberland coast.  A dead whale was beached on the shore line there.  I garnered much interest .

My sister, brother and I along with friends when down to the beach during the early evening of day two, we decided that walking/running off  the length of the whale and falling/sliding off of it was a good idea as was bouncing up and down on it. redface:  It really was great fun.

A day or so later the RAF towed it out to sea and blew it up.  That was pretty spectacular to watch as well. redface: redface:

I will try and find a link later. angel1

Oh and BTW I am appalled by Subway and their decision to offer Halal meat in some of it's franchises,  There are Subway's in Cornwall, I wonder if they will decide to sell only Cornish pasties in their wraps.  Arse. evil:

I don't go to Subway's here very often, anyone know if there will be notices advising customers how the meat for the rolls is slaughtered.  evil:

 eeek:

Wrong imho and dumb but looks like a business driven solution that if they are going after the Halal likers in some areas then that won't work if such see bacon on the menu.

One of the good things about Subway imho is they cater for so many preferences so well and (imho again) someone that is denied their bacon on a visit is unlikely to return to the chain wherever.  I'll still go to Subway but not the Halal ones, luckily the brilliant one near Old Trafford isn't.

Interesting that their press release http://www.subway.co.uk/media/news/halal-stores.aspx doesn't say owt about bacon.

Does offering bacon or any Halal stuff worry you?  rubschin: . . . .
Not as much as people imposing their lifestyles on others for no good reason.

Thinking about it ...it's not the 1st time Muslims have fucked up our subways........ noooo:
