Dangerous conditions around Falmouth? I call bullshit. Hundreds of cargo vessels shelter off Gyllyngvase each year and none of them end up running aground so where exactly are these dangerous conditions?

Sounds about right, this picture shows it perfectly...
If you look to the horizon on the left of the image you can see another cargo ship anchored, now unless there are a load of ships seeking safe harbour for weather conditions that's the normal distance they are from the coast. So even if the owners are trying to claim that the incoming tide is strong enough to drag an anchored vessel of that size into the shore which would preclude using the bay as a safe harbour the only logical cause for this is crew error.
