 rubschin: one is an opinion piece of the author ie not the NYT and the other is not abolishing the police per se just their management department.  The actual officers etc will be transferred over to new more district based management at some point
 
They'll still be police in the Twin Cities this time next year and the year after and  . . .  . .

The trucker move is interesting, often they hate the police
