So the outgoing head of the Cornish tourism board has been moaning about the types of people who come down here on holiday.

'In the 1970s people were in Cornwall because they couldn't afford a proper holiday and there were a lot of chips on shoulders, and we felt that again in those two years. It had come back around.'
Chips on shoulders my arse! Almost every single business owner I know down here were grateful to nearly everyone who came down here on holiday as most of them were at the very least concerned about how they were going to keep going. Yes, some tourists act like entitled morons but you see that wherever you go and the majority of them were perfectly happy to come down here. As a matter of fact many of the ones I talked to commented about how much they wanted to come back down again even after lockdown would be lifted and overseas locations were available again.
As the head of Visit Cornwall should be well aware of just how much of the local economy depends on the tourist trade so instead of whinging on about the types of tourist that have come to Cornwall and trying to insult them by calling them emmits (which is an ironic insult given your surname) why not thank them for bringing the trade down here that helped keep businesses from closing down you ignorant ungrateful arsehole! Whoever takes over the reigns for Visit Cornwall it sounds like it is going to be in far better hands than yours.
