I was in here first thing to clean the bogs, change the barrels etc but then I had a lovely day.
1) Percy Filth reared his ugly head in traditional Burfday fashion
2) Halfway through that the phone rang to summon us to the cub camp where they had lost the medication that Minimus must carry wherever he goes
3) Delivered fresh supplies of medication only to find that the "lost" items had been found
4) Decided to abandon rest of 1) until later
5) Chased all over Denbighshire on a mission for the Village Hall committee
6) Mrs S#2 bought me lunch in a pub (she had Lasagne, I had Chicken breast stuffed with spinach and pine nuts)
7) Returned home to resume 1) ~ fell asleep due to lunch
8 ) Soothed Mrs S#2's worries about Cubs at camp and the weather forecast of torrential rain throughout the night
9) Returned to the job in hand see 1) above
10) Interrupted by Burfday Greetings phone call from MiL who then engaged Mrs S#2 in a loooooooong conversation about a row she has had with the Gas Board
11) Finally resumed 1) only to be interrupted by eldest daughter ringing to say Happy Burfday
12) Decided to abandon 1) and watch TV instead
13) Mrs S#2 said "would you like your Burfday treat now?". I affirmed eagerly.
14) Mrs S#2 reappears, not in lingerie as hoped but still in jeans but carrying a custard slice with a candle burning on top of it. She warbles "Happy Birthday to you" and I enjoy the diabetically dangerous custard slice ('cos I ain't supposed to eat such things)
15) The rain starts to bucket down and panic ensues in Mrs S#2's breast ~ her darlings will be getting wet!
16) Midnight ~ and so to bed too knackered to bother to finish 1) above
This morning.
Wake and think "today I will return to 1) above ~ what could possibly go wrong?" Make my approach and am not rebuffed, in fact met with some enthusiasm. Phone rings ~ THW "Daddy you'll have to come to the camp RIGHT AWAY ~ Minimus is having an allergic reaction to something"
"Calm down dear, now what seems to be the problem?"
"He says he feels sick and he can hardly breath his asthma is sooooooooooooo bad and he wants to come home NOW!!"
I drag on jeans and sweatshirt, leap into Landrover and drive to Cub Camp to be met by smiling Minimus "I'm feeling a bit better now, I think it was the rain knocking pollen off the trees and the wind mixing it with all the grass pollen"
"So do you want to come home or not?"
"Yes please ~ Akela says it would be best and I am very wheezy"
I listen to his chest and he is, sounds like a leaky water pump, indeed very wheezy so we load him and his kit into car, THW says "No point in my staying here then" and proceeds to take down her tent and load it plus all other very wet kit into my car.
We return home.
THW is now on the phone to her Boyfriend arranging the rest of her day, Minimus is stretched out on the sofa watching TV and consuming vast quantities of hot toast and tea, Mrs S#2 is trying to sort out the bundle of tents, sleeping bags and clothing to wash and/or dry it all and I have to return to the camp at 1pm to help take down the rest of the several acres of canvas tenting and watch the flag lowering and final prayers parade at 3pm. Then can I collect Minor, who is still there having a whale of a time, load all his wet gear and come home again.
AND I STILL HAVEN'T HAD A SHAG!
