I am not a violent person but

I often rant and rave at the children and occasionally at my wife but that is just me letting off steam and I believe they know this. Certainly they take little notice.

Today has been one continual battle between the THW and her mother. They have argued at top volume, non-stop, about everything under the sun.

Silence now reigns as I have just walked into the kitchen and said, very calmly and quietly, "Shut the fuck up or I will bang your heads together" and walked away again.

Perhaps I should do this more often.

No argument from me love ~ I left at 15 years and 8 months. Returned for one week when I was 16 years and three weeks and then did not go back to visit until I was married at 19years and 5 months when I took my wife to meet the family at Christmas. When Mum died I found she had kept the half dozen letters/postcards I had sent her over those years. Unforgivable in many ways but at least my relationship with my parents once I was an adult was better then it would have been if I had hung around ~ either Father would have killed me or, more likely, me him.

I have never raised my voice to the family  angel1

I find just sitting at the kitchen table muttering quietly while cleaning the shotgun will bring on total tranquility straight away.
