So how did you find the summer?
« on: August 28, 2009, 06:03:28 AM »
Having reached the end of August how was your summer? (BM need not answer because we all know how to spell "Scorchio" by now).
Did you enjoy anything approaching the BBQ summer promised by the Met Office and the press or is it just on the North West Coast of Wales that there have been more wet days than dry ones? Is it only here that PYO fruit (which we rely on for our jam making) has gone so wrong with the crop rotting in the fields because it has been too wet to pick?

Certainly those few farmers around here who grow cereal crops are struggling to get their harvest in and dried. Stories of hooooge bills for heating barns to dry the cereals abound and it is more than just farmers moans this time. I have seen some of it in store, wringing wet, literally.

The Weathermen on the Beeb keep telling me that the  sun is shining down there in the South East (wherever they have decided that will be on any given day ~ it seems to vary from Kent right along to East Dorset on occasions and on others is simply Met Office speak for London which always has been a couple of degrees warmer than everywhere else in the UK because of the buildings) but various posters who I would place in the South East have reported regularly that it has been "pissio"

So what's the verdict? A good summer or "not like it was when I was a child".

It is pissing down here this morning BTW

Still maybe we will have a spectacularly good Autumn.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

It's bloody windy down in Surrey.

I'm trying to sort out a neighbours PC - he's just installed a wireless router and its gubbed his personal e-mail (Outlook Express) and also his work one (Outlook via a VPN to his company). Everything I try seems to work for a bit then it all goes tits up.

So I wandered back to my house to check all the settings on mine to see if I could spot where I'm going wrong. In my house there was a dog  eeek: I rang Mrs TMRBB and she says she found it whilst she was out shopping. She called the number on the name tag and an old dear answered. Mrs TMRBB asked where she lived so she could return the dog. The old dear can't remember where she lives  noooo:  Apparently "Ted" knows where she lives and Ted will be back in about an hour...

Well, I found summer exactly where I had left it.
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

IT IS SEPTEMBER !!!!

How the feck has that gone so quickly  noooo:

Personally I have really enjoyed the summer. Holiday was fab, weather in  the Londonium micro climate whilst not being tropical has been pleasant enough and warm enough. I have had a fair bit of time off work and it has all passed way too quickly .

My dear girl. Enjoy it while it passes at the snails pace you currently see.

Soon enough it will be a blur like that old Time Machine film.  surrender:
