As I read it this the Unions are saying that members should NOT be told that such footwear is to be worn as part of their working uniform.

The whole country is going to hell in a handcart and these Luddites have nothing better to do than debate such matters. Words fail me. Banghead

All they are saying is that the employer will have to carry out a risk assessment. We would all be able to complete the findings of this here and now  noooo:

Being 'required' to wear high heels as part of a Uniform is another matter. You take the job knowing what the terms and conditions are and whether you are prepared to work under these. I do not know many 'legalised' professions that 'require' you to wear high heels . Certainly most air stewardesses don't anymore. Most wear a low court heel these days ( sorry fella's  lol: )

I like wearing heels and wear them to work most days. It is my personal responsibility to ensure that I can walk in them. Not many people I know have been off work for heel related injuries , or calf strain etc but if you look at long term sickness levels for RSI problems they are through the roof. Should we prioritise and stop using computers - simply is not going to happen is it  noooo:

I will NOT stop wearing heels  cussing:

Good for you Miss D. You wear what you like.

BTW
I object to being lumped in with the high heel fetish contingent. Whilst I admire a well turned ankle and agree that "heels" can enhance these my own preference is for bare footed wimmin. You can always tell a real lady by the way she walks in bare feet. whistle:

Would that be not far as the chain connecting her to the sink, cooker and washing machine won't allow it  whistle:

Not at all. Bare foot and pregnant has never been my style. Bare foot however is ~ although my previous wife, when I once objected to the size of her shoe collection, did once make the comment "If you don't pay to shoe the horse you don't get to ride it"

I don't mind the shopping, it's the need for an extension to the house for the storage space that hurts.  ;D

And that's without the handbags.
