Advice sought
« on: September 26, 2009, 08:04:02 AM »
Next week I'm off to visit a VIP in Windsor. Travel arrangements....what shall I do?
* coach to Victoria - change - coach to Windsor
* coach to Victoria - taxi  scared2: - train from Waterloo to Windsor
* train to ???(somewhere can't remember) - underground to Waterloo - as above

It's years since I travelled on the underground........... what's it like these days, oh London pals out there?

Of course the other consideration is the price.... being a 'recycled teenager', bus fares are cheaper...... by about a zillion quid!!

I will seek a majority vote on this one.   whistle:

Coach to Victoria

Meet Miss D for lunch  cloud9:

She will take you to Waterloo

Train from Waterloo

Saying that depends on which day as I am going to a conference in Stratford Upon Avon on Tuesday afternoon through to Thursday night  rubschin:

PS if you can avoid the underground I would definitely suggest you do that . It is packed , cramped , hot and full of tourists reading tube maps  evil:

Lunch would have been lovely... but honestly, don't worry. I love Stratford-on-Avon...... oh, the days of conferences - residential ones at that!!!  eyes:

You could, of course, hang around Chelsea Barracks at the right time of the morning and hitch a lift on the coach that takes the Guards out to the Castle ~ not only direct route but also free and comes complete with police escort ~ or it used to. whistle:

Of course the downside is that you will have to hide among 60 guardsmen ~ but I'm sure a resourceful fairy could manage that.

Actually that is one of my sillier ideas ~ you would probably be asphyxiated by the overpowering stench of Lynx before you crossed the M25.
