Would that be caster sugar or granulated, light brown or the dark treacly stuff? So many imponderables  noooo:

To be honest I was happy just knowing that it was a lot of nose candy.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

I've been trying to find my pics of the Iron Duke but alas...  surrender:

We was parked up berthed alongside her in Antigua once and the crew were all deployed in tarting her up with a fresh lick of paint. The ratings were in full naval gear in the Caribbean sun with paint pots and brushes whilst the officers were strutting around in their whites. A Governor's cocktail party was in the offing apparently as they'd put red carpet out on the foredeck  ;D

We was parked up berthed alongside

Equivalent of name dropping ~ speaking the right language.

I inadvertently let slip a bit of RAF terminology once when flying civvy. I referred to "the Driver" rather than "the Pilot" and was immediately outed as ex Transport Command by a bloke in the row across the aisle  lol:

All the RN "Park up" they never berth.

It's a fair cop guv'  lol:

Being on a MV, we were berthed (for the sake of the passengers) but being technically part of the crew I heard 'parked up' so many times ...  whistle:

It was a memorable experience to see a Frigate that close up and chatted to some the chaps working on her. Quite alarming to see a ship bristling with weaponry alongside a MV serving the tourist trade.
