A finer band of gossip merchants  you could not wish to meet  cloud9:

It's all a bit long and complicated but essentially she believed he was flirting ( he really wasn't   rubschin: ) and during the conversation at dinner he was talking about some stuff that he hadn't told her . I provided an opinion and some advice which she apparently completely disagrees with. So be it I was only trying to help  noooo:

The juicy bits.

'at dinner he was talking about some stuff that he hadn't told her (what?) . I provided an opinion and some advice (what?) which she apparently completely disagrees with (why?).

Essentially he had left his wife over 3 and a half years ago to be with his GF.

GF is pushing him to get a divorce and finalise everything. Ex is not agreeing to a divorce.  He does not want to get married again and he has had this conversation with GF and she accepts this but still wants him to finalise divorce.

He has offered cash incentive to wife to agree to divorce ( this was the bit she didn't know ) but she still refuses.

I said for the sake of another 18 months why don't you just leave it and then apply for a divorce yourself as they will have been separated 5 years. That ways saves money, is simples to do and will cause much less grief.

That is the bit GF is not happy about  scared2:

Sound advice of course.

I was expecting something more fruity though, if it caused a row.

Along the lines of "I though all women liked xxxxx but she doesn't, what is your position?"

This is obviously because she does want him to marry her (daft sod).
I couldn't ask for better friends. I could ask for more NORMAL friends, but not better ones.

Exactly ...which is why she is so pissed off with the prospect of having to wait another 18 months  noooo:

But he is adamant he doesn't want to get married again so I really don't rate her chances

Oh dear  noooo:
