Favourite sandwich fillings
« on: October 07, 2009, 01:36:55 PM »
I often go to a little deli down the road from me at lunchtime to buy a sarnie .

However I am becoming a little bored with eating the same thing.

I may start making my own to bring in which got me to thinking what my favourite sandwich contents would be  rubschin:

If you had to make your perfect sandwich what would be in it ????

Avacado, brie and bacon with mayo on granary bread since you ask.

If you can't manage that I'll settle for Hot Salt Beef on Rye and don't hold back on the Horseradish.

I could go for any of those BM suggested, but my top three would probably be:
Smoked salmon and cream cheese with black pepper
Crispy bacon and avocado
BLT

The filling all depends on the mood really, but it's always on granary bread

Righty! Depending on the mood and appetite, perfection takes many forms, soooooo :

Wafer thin pepper salami, tomato and mayo on brown
Tuna, red onion, mayo, horseradish and cucumber on brown
Lightly toasted BLT with the bacon still hot
The ubiquitous chip butty with ketchup (has to be white bread here)
Roast chicken, crisp lettuce and mayo on brown
Prawn and avocado, dressing and lettuce on brown
Roast beef, tomato and whole grain mustard on brown
Ham off the bone, sliced cornichons, butter, white baguette
Sardine, cream cheese, capers, lemon juice on toast

I think I better stop  redface:

Roasted chorizo and mixed peppers with goats cheese, rocket and chilli jam in a lightly toasted ciabatta.  cloud9:

And having just tried it as a salad I'd recommend mozzerella with mango & chilli jam with mixed leaf.  cloud9:
