Evocative songs
« on: November 08, 2009, 08:04:44 PM »
We've all got them - you know the songs that you hear that either transport you back to a time , a person or an event in your life and will be forever more associated with that, be it good , sad , bad or joyous.

As girls we have probably all compiled  ( taped or made a cd of - this was obviously before the onset of playlists  redface: ) a break up collection of songs that we can just listen to over and over again and feel sorry for ourselves  redface:

For example I cannot listen to Blue Monday or anything by Jimmy Somerville without being transported by to the Uni student disco on a Wednesday night  - 50 p a pint and Thursday completely written off  cloud9:

Likewise I cannot listen to Bridge over troubled waters or Everybody Hurts by REM without blubbing.

I say this because I was watching a film this afternoon and this song came on and the inevitable happened  sad24:

So what songs trigger any reactions with you ?

"Whole Lotta Love" Led Zeppelin. Throws me back to 1971, listening to the track at a friend's house and lusting after the lovely S.L. who I had a crush on at the time.
