Did you watch his world record beating Scalectrix circuit around Brooklands and the associated area that has now been built upon.  
Absolute riveting watch.
His overflowing enthusiasm, dedication, and no give up attitude shine through like a shining beacon amongst all the durge currently on the box.

Well well done Mr May. You thouroughly entertained me with a constant grin of childhood dreams and overwhelming delight for the full hour.
You are a star, and I sincerely hope this will be truly recognise at the TV awards ceromony, for best light entertainment and educational programmes of the year by a country mile.

Yep .... Totally agree... watched him tonight. Real family entertainment. First time I can recall that all 5 of us sat down together for a hour without any arguments, in fact not a word was spoken until the programme ended when all said what fun it had been. Even the world weary THW enjoyed it and there can be no higher praise than that!

Only sounds here were gasps of gleeful delight from me and Growler jnr.,as the cars went over the jumps, over the pond and up the spiral section to the top of the Sony building.

Why didn't they build the house at Legoland in Windsor. Wouldn't that have been a tad more sensible don't you think?

I don't know why they picked Dorking, but legoland originally agreed to take the building to Windsor afterwards.
Unfortunately they balked at the cost of dismantling and moving it, so it was demolished. Shame.
I had hoped that the vineyard might have kept it.

If I recall correctly (and that is a big IF) Legoland had "issues" with the idea of letting all the people involved wander about their Windsor site, which is a huge revenue earner for them, for free so they made excuses about (i) Elfin Safety, (ii) Insurance (iii) Sundry other details that they wanted to quibble over when the programme makers just wanted to get on with it.
Personally I don't think "they" realised the following the James May was going to get for the series.

Of course you do know this was all shown on BBC 2 back in October don't you? I saw the Hornby one then but missed some of the others.
