Deodorant?  rubschin:

Yea, you can get some anti-doggy smell stuff for their coats apparently.
THAT is my biggest gripe about dogs, the pong some of them create, probably cus the owners don't dry them properly after getting wet?

I'm not sure it is right to get a new pet... on the rebound like....  noooo:

Rest assured, I'd never do that. Recipe for disaster.
Bit like with wimmin really, only I could never actually understand WHY anyone would want another wumman immidiately after binning one. Shrugs:

Doggy smell is usually caused by poor diet and lack of exercise.
Wet dogs always smell.
Chappie Dog Food makes dogs stink.

'Chappie' is supposedly a highly recommended dog food, well that's what the RSPCA seem to think.
Smells vile apparently. sick2:

It does smell vile and it makes most dogs coats smell ~ see also their breath. Chappie is often recommended because it is CHEAP!

When I had dogs I bought some Chappie at the local Damn-it! shop at about 11 pm as we had run out of dog food and it was the only dog food the shop had.
Neither pooch would look at it. noooo:

THAT is very clever Mr Pirate. happy088

Without wishing to seem ungrateful and pedantic like, you could have attached a lead to Wulfy. I'm a responsible pet owner. Don't want sheeples getting the wrong impression. noooo:

Going to see him shortly.

S'all gone tits up...for now at least. ::)

If anyone is going to have their chips pissed upon 'round here, or anywhere come to think of it, it'll be ME. ::)

Went down this avvy with Growlers jnr to hand the application form in.
RSPCA wumman said, ok, I'll file it. Someone will be in touch when Wulfy is ready for re-homing.
Slightly puzzled, I asked her what why wasn't he ready now...ish, and could I place a deposit down to reserve him?
No was the short answer.

Apparently, he's got some sort of 'issues' with other dogs.  confused:
She couldn't elaborate, but simply said the staff were re-training him. Could take days, weeks or months apparently.
I asked her if anyone else had shown an interest in him.
Oh yes, plenty, and we'll sift through all the applications when we feel he's ready for release.

This sounds like a bloody lottery to me, and I'm NOT holding my breath that I'm going to win it.

Ahh well, disappointed, but plenty of time and choice I suppose.
Just wish they'd told me in a bit more detail yesterday about this apparent screening process, re-training my arse.

On a serious note Growler, the RSPCA are the scum of the earth in my opinion...

You don't wonder why they have so many poor dogs there when people literally can't take them off their hands.

Some of their behind-the-scenes legal actions against people that have left them money are quite disgusting too.

Fuck them. Tell them that for sixty-five quite you'll buy a puppy down the pet shop and not have to be treated like shite for it....

I dunno lads. All a bit of a mystery to me.
As you rightly say BM, the RSPCA are constantly whinging about needing money and to re-home these poor animals asap, and yet they seem to throw obstuctions up when you enquire.
I do however appreciate that they can't be seen to handing out animals randomly

The poor buggers are all locked up in cages....it really does look like a prison, barbed wire fencing, security gates etc, and some of the dogs look well pissed off, just sittting there with their heads bowed down, eyes glancing up as you walk past, pitiful really. cry:

Went to see Wulfy while I was there, and he looked as bright as the day before, rolling over immediatley to have his tummy tickled, tail slowly wafting back and forth.
Really took an instant shine to him which I found suprising, as I was fully expecting to not see any dog that I'd be interested in tbh
Only went there out of curiosity and modest interest on Friday more than anything else tbh.
No other dogs interested me, even though they suggested a pit bull they'd had for 10 months.
