Willy waving thread
« on: December 01, 2009, 10:03:16 PM »
I got up me 'ill in a new record breaking time today of 28:56.  cloud9:

Conditions were absolutey vile, -2 at the summit and blowing an absolute hurricane, but funnily enough these are the bestest conditions to prevent over heating. I'm ded proud of meself, and the newly re-jigged target of 75 climbs is well on for achieving, with just 12 more to do before 31/12.
I'll hopefully be on the summit that day celebrating with a big fat CAKE if you want to join me. cloud9:

Sad in'it, but self achievment targets have to be laid down for the Growler family. nonono:

Nice one Growler.  happy088 Nothing sad about it at all, it's probably what keeps you sane (-ish). I don't know how big your 'ill is, but the walk I do aound the farm gives me moments of peace and solitude, allows me to clear thoughts in my head and is welcome and much needed exercise

Me 'ill is 1.5 miles up...and down obviously, with varying degress of steepness, particulary tough near the end.
I invariably feel as though I'm going to die of oxygen starvation once the summit is reached.  lol:

There are other routes, but this one is the easiest to get to. Absolutely luv the place, and I seem to change character when I'm up there. During weekdays, everyone is so friendly, including me, not that you see many on dirty days in the late Autmn like yesterday. They must all go up there cus they're pissed off with life down here too p'raps? rubschin:

Sunny Sundays are generally most unpleasant walking up there, with whole families sauntering up, grotty loud sprogs in hand, dropping shite everywhere, mobile phones going off, dogs running wildly amok, and DO NOT MENTION BAGS OF POO TIED UP IN PLASTIC BAGS HANGING FROM BRANCHES. noooo:

You got your own farm then JOM?!  cloud9:
Animals or crops?

Not turnips, PLEASE! lol:

I just happen to live on the farm, rent the original farmhouse from the farmer, slap-bang in the middle of a very large arable farm  cloud9: ... no turnips

Out in the wilds is it?  cloud9:

No. I'm not after the location to haunt you btw, just interested and probably envious.

It's in Wessex ~ nothing in Wessex counts as out in the wilds ~ there is always some b@st@rd living within a hundred yards of you. Usually closer and the traffic is horrendous ~ just two more reasons why I live in Wales even if I do come from Wessex.

Not exactly out in the wilds, town is six minutes away, but over 2,600 acres in which to enjoy the fresh air

happy088 Apart from the tragic lack of turnips. noooo:

Any'ow, I'm off shortly to the deepest and darkest of woods, for a BIG boys picnic, consisting of loads of ale and loads of fresh meat.  cloud9:

I'll say tarar in anticipation of me never coming back like.  cloud9:
