Oh dear ...what did they say Miss C ?
A technician needs to phone me to make an appointment to visit the property and make a detailed plan. Expect the call in 4-6 weeks appointment 4-6 weeks later. Detailed plan will be drawn up and submitted to god knows who.
Officer will call some 4-6 weeks later to make an appointment to come to the house to do a means test. A decision will be made 4-6 weeks later.
Three quotes will be obtained and a contractor appointed. Time delay 4-6 weeks, they are very busy.
I asked if the means test should not be done first. The reply in a voice very much like the Little Britain sketch 'computer says no' but with a Sheffield accent. Oh no we always do it this way as most people are eligible for a grant.
I did point out the waste of time money and resources should the claimant not be eligible.
Not her fault that she has a really annoying voice, sounds totally disinterested and does not know her elbow from her arse.
This all probably sounds very familiar to you Miss D. It's 26 years since I was employed by a council so this is all new to me and I am bemused.
