I have spent half the day on the phone to London local authorities  noooo:. After getting through the "Select options" pressing buttons bit most of the folks I have spoken to have been utterly unhelpful  cussing:

Tower Hamlets is the worst  evil:

I may have mentioned this before but IVR's have an 'idiot' setting which you can use to your advantage. When they give you an option pick a number outside of the range. After a couple of attempts the system should give up and pass you through to an person straight away.  As for the unhelpful folks, there isn't much I can suggest there other then asking of the calls are recorded if they don't tell you at the start and then asking for their line manager or for the complaints procedure.

I think it would need a 'blithering idiot' setting in this case....  whistle:

I thought you'd gone out like....  redface:

No accountable reason but a strangely glum afternoon, weather dismal too  rubschin:

Saw this earlier today on a regular email for jobs:

NO AGENCIES - ONLY INDIVIDUALS NEED APPLY
Please send your resume or portfolio and tell me why you're best for the job.
Remember, I will not look at your PPH portfolio as it is likely outdated. I want to see what you last did and that is it, ONE EXAMPLE ONLY.
I am looking for a candidate who is an amazing graphic designer and also knows a bit of CSS to make a theme that can interact with its users!
You will join the department responsible for designing our clients' brands (colors, typography, theme elements[menu, boxes, accordions, icons, etc], logo, business cards, brochures, etc) and other related graphics.
You will be given more instructions if we respond.
IMPORTANT: CSS/HTML knowledge is a MUST- NO EXCEPTIONS.
Good luck.

Cocky bastard thought I   ::)   Seems I wasn't the only one ...  someone replied thus:

Hi Daniel

I'd like you to tell me a little more about yourself, not your past achievements, they're probably out of date anyway, show me something that you think will show me why you have the potential to become one of my clients.
If I think you've got what it takes to add you to my portfolio, I'll be in touch.

Good Luck

Nice one! I trust Pastis answered with suitable comments too!

One of my favourite Fvck Offs when invited to tender was "I'm afraid that your organisation will find our standards too high for your requirements" ~ usually sent to night clubs looking for bouncers and used car sales lots that wanted guard dogs etc.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

No, not yet. Been busy, but I might add a comment.
The person offering the job is an American and a prat. He's posted before and IIRC the previous was similarly stupid  ::)

Some of the smiley faces seem to have lost a little weight of late, I assume that they have been attending Slimmers World for Emocions and that their efforts have been successful.

I have been busy for what seems like an eternity and like Pastis have found myself getting glum on occasion. Standing for hours in the cold and wet probably have not helped. Not having a sodding bathroom and having to shower in the freezing greenhouse may have also helped. Not having internet connection may have helped too. Hairy arsed slow builders have contributed no doubt. Banghead sad24:

Roll on Tuesday is all I can say. I should have a working bathroom and a house free of builders. cloud9:
