Indeed ~ I gave them the choice of Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House or a cave tour. They, for various reasons (Daughter doing A level Geology, two small boys who thought it would be more exciting than a lot of old furniture and pictures and SWWLTBO because she too has done Geology ~ at Cambridge), elected a cave tour which meant I sat in the car for an hour and a half and read the paper. This is because, good though my new toy is, it doesn't do caving. However more than made up for it by going to Caernarfon the following day.
Actually sitting in the car, listening to the Test Match and reading the Telegraph isn't such a bad option ~ since I have previously done the caves, Chatsworth and Haddon (ex wife came from Sheffield so many holidays took us back there to visit her family and such outings were the order of the day).
