Today, for my listening pleasure, there's a bloody brass band over the road in the park  :lalalala

And they're not that good  noooo: noooo:

They've just started again  eeek:  I went to Sainsbury's when they started, came back and they were still, so went to Tesco's  noooo:

It sounds like a poor dress rehearsal for "Oh. What a Lovely War"  ::)

Snoops, me ol' chum, so do I. This lot just aren't that good  cry:

Having been brought up oop North, one of my imprinted memories is of a winter's evening, just before Christmas. Snow on the ground, a dark sky with stars a-sparking, and the local brass band traipsing oop the lane on their way around the village. They stopped outside our cottage and played a few carols.  cloud9:
Mum and Dad went out with a tray of mince pies and some cups of mulled wine - a guaranteed reward every year... bliss!

Eldest lad (he'll be 12 next month) is the cornet player. Been at it a year and can just about manage William Tell Overture (all be it slowly).

He is secretly practicing "Reveille" and plans to blast it through his Sister's bedroom door early one morning. eveilgrin:

And that reminds me of this video ~ I know we've done it before but it still works for me.

At home today.

Just been to the dentist. From walking in to walking back out 5 minutes - £16.50. Took me longer to park the car.

The sun is shining.

I'm off to Hampton Court for the flower show.

There is a Lego Pirates Landing garden - bet they won't let me have a play.
