Even if you haven't got a gismo just turn the heating down 5 degrees and you'll use a fraction of normal use and you won't free to deathTakes a good 24 hours to really warm up a home again after some one has turned all the heating off. You open a cupboard and cold air wafts out, you open a wardrobe same plue all your clothes are freezing etc etcAnd if it gets really cold you have broken pipes which is worserer
