Nick did used to complain about an unconvincing transvestite.....  rubschin:

I wonder which pronoun he/she/it/ze prefers...?  rubschin:

Shift today has been cancelled, haven't got any more shifts this week and may be on holiday next week as it's so bloody quiet at the moment.  cloud9:

Well guess where we are today

It’s bonkers, full of tourists, expensive, a killer if you try to do it on foot but keep a visit short and it’s just wonderful
Well, whatever, nevermind

Was there in early March. It was cold but fantastically empty. No battling the Google Maps followers with their battle clad suitcases  lol:

Mrs K wants to come back and stay a couple of nights rather than drive in and back - any recommendations on hotels?

Oh and if you ever go back then this restaurant has the best loos we have ever seen in a restaurant.  And that in a city and frankly a country where they're often a bit sus

Pizzas were excellent too

We booked it via the BA sale last year - which is on now!!! Til the 25th Sept

We stayed at LaGare Hotel Venezia Mgallery Collection - Venice. This was on Murano .

https://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-7353-lagare-hotel-venezia-mgallery-by-sofitel/index.shtml

It is a modern hotel so the rooms were large and bright  ( compared to those on Venice)  and was a  4star.   Breakfast was included as was flights and a return boat transfer from the airport to the hotel .  Staff were lovely and it was cheap as chips for all that. Also water bus stop right outside the hotel - about every 15 mins to Venice.
Just checking the BA site now for 3 nights with all that included on March 8th next year £182  / March 22nd £194 . It really was great value for money !!!

Top Tips also book the 'Secret Tour' for Doges Palace  which has no queue and you visit the behind the scenes stuff and then have full access to the rest of the building.

Also did one of these which was brilliant -  http://venicefreewalkingtour.com/  and saw a lot of stuff and found out a lot more about the city than we would have otherwise

This morning was Padua

Just a city really, fun watching the walking tours but not worth a trip and prolly not a diversion but it’s only about 10k from the hotel at Abano. More of which later
