Been to the quack and the chemist

The man had to go to hospital for a procedure last Thursday. They said he would stay overnight but then at 8pm said come and collect.

So we picked him up and was told to come back the next day to collect his meds from the pharmacy. Don't worry it will all be waiting for you they confidently declared.

So Christmas Eve I toddle back to the hospital and go to the pharmacy - furthest accessible place in the horsepickle  ::). Yep you guessed it nothing there to collect. Check system - yep stuff to be collected but no one had told them . So not so cheerful white coat comes back to counter to say will need about 45 mins to prepare ??? Some cream and painkillers ??? Can someone please explain why this takes 45 mins to put in a bag ???

So she takes my number and says she will ring me when ready. I toddle off to shops across the road and mooch on an epic scale until phone rings . "Ready to collect".

Toddle back to pharmacy. Bemused white coat looks at me and says " Oh no you have to collect it from the ward he was discharged last night"  censored:

Toddle to other side of hospital to where the ward was located. Ring bell for hope of admittance - no answer. Repeat this about 3 times and 10 minutes later someone answers.

Explain my requirements and nurse expresses some signs she is aware of the situation. Wait there she says and she toddles of I know not where.

15 mins later she comes back with a sandwich bag and with some paracetamol and cream in . "Right I just have to print off his discharge papers " she states.

She presses printer button . Nothing happens. She opens paper drawer  - no paper . She looks at me - " happy for you to email these " I state.

" Can't do that " she responds .......off she toddles.

10 mins later she comes back , paper in hand.

Fills paper draw and presses button. The machine splutters into life and starts spewing churns and churns of paperwork out. Nurse looks bemused. "oh someone has been printing their payslips off " she says and she starts to scrutinise these intensely. They were obviously not hers

Finally hoorah  our papers have been delivered.

Snatch and go I get out of there. Just over 2 hours to collect some paracetamol and some sudocream type thing  noooo:

Jeez

 noooo: noooo: noooo:
Well, whatever, nevermind

Not a bad yarn at all.  Not the same impact as the first film but still engagingly quirky and clever
Well, whatever, nevermind
