My laptop was pissing me off on my holibobs... It is a decent Asus that I tricked up with extra memory and an SSD but it is Win 10 and not upgradable and, and, and... Plus it is heavy with its power brick in tow so...

I ordered one of these instead...

Seems good value and a good compromise, I've ordered a 1TB M.2 SSD, the keyboard and stylus so it should do everything I need while travelling and sync up properly with my desktop...

Stuck in Germany at the moment (although the keyboard turned up a week ago  evil:) so I can't comment on how it actually works yet...

That does look very interesting thanks.  Shame about the 8G RAM limit but it's massively cheaper than replacing my Microsoft Surface where I've nearly filled the fixed 500GB drive.  And the battery is shagged and guess what, impossible to replace.

Agree on the RAM, would have preferred 16 for sure...

But as you say, cheap, runs off USB C, keyboard if required and light to travel with... Extra 1TB to back up photos...  What could possibly go wrong...?  rubschin:

Chip reading cat flap.  Managed to let our cats out and not let them in.  Tried everything and then gorilla taped the catch to open both ways.  £70 for a new one and we'll have to get it to learn the cats chips - a somewhat awkward process  evil:

Yes, no choice on the keyboard layout... I figure it will be for occasional use only. You can add any BT keyboard if you wanted to do some serious typing.
