I see it’s Bonfire Night in Lewes on Tuesday  rubschin:

Met up with Steve… Thumbs:
Never done Lewes Bonfire night (actually they have several bonfires that night) but doubt I ever will as reports say it gets rowdy and very hostile.  The police actively discourage out of town attendance now.  Used to do the Battle bonfire night (that rivals it) but they're no longer allowed to do that in front of the Abbey and last time we went (must be over 20 years ago) my brother in law got hit by one of the big and illegal bangers fuckwits throw into the crowds causing a painful leg injury.

Sussex bonfires are still a BIG thing but I guess I've grown out of them.
Well seems I was wrong about that Abbey location not being allowed.  The field they were using was less than safe and seems English Heritage relaxed their ban on use of the Abbey
