Today I have to adjust the heating timer and the "automatic" external lights at the village hall (must save money where we can), then take Madam's Corsa back to ATS for new brake linings (must spend money to keep the family safe).
I shall then shop for burfday gifts for Lil Bruv (burfday on 10th) and SWWLTBO (burfday on 15th) + Easter eggs for children (must spend money to keep family happy).
Once that is all achieved I will be werking (must earn money to spend on family)

Also lawn needs cutting, flower beds need weeding, cars need cleaning etc.

Same old treadmill really.

It came close yesterday .....she got a bloody good slap round the face  redface:

Hysterical mare  evil:

But no, she goes off skiiing today. The argument started cos she absolutely 'had' to have this new pair of tracksuit bottoms that she expected me to go and buy this morning so she could go on this trip this lunchtime.

Not that the trip has not cost £750 ( paid in installments over the last 7 months )
Equipment and clothing about £100
Spends about £100
Top up's for her phone about £30

But all this is nothing  because she wanted these trousers.

I went orbital at the selfish , selfish, selfish little mare  evil:

I am absolutely certain I was not like this when I was a teen.

I was a "bit of a handful", forever in trouble BUT that went with the territory.

We lived in a council house, I knew there was little money so never asked for things.

Soon as I was old enough I got two paper rounds. One wage went in my pocket and one wage went to me Mum.... to help out like.

School trips? Ha!
I only went on two. One to Lulworth Cove and one to Clifton Suspension Bridge (we lived in Southampton so hardly day trips to the end of the world).

Holidays we (Lil Bruv and I) were sent to Odiham, staying with Mum's sister, where we were expected to help with the harvest to pay for our board and lodging! We only twice went on holiday as a family. Once, when I was 8 we went all the way to Pagham (YES a whole 35 miles down the coast!!!) and stayed in a caravan for a week and once when I was 12 when we went to the IoW and stayed on a houseboat for 5 days.

I know this sounds like a Monty Python Sketch but 'tis true ... that's what life was like in the 1950s

It was much like that for us in the 60s and 70s Snoops.

Papa was in the RAF so we did get to live abroad.

One family holiday in a caravan in St Davids about 1972.

Other than that it was when we were in the country a week with my grandmother in the summer Hampshire coast. Week with her at Easter.  The beach was only about 1/2 a mile away but it was stony.  Were we ever taken 3 miles up the coast to a sandy beach were we buggery. sad24: Oh and I never did have a pair of red wellies either. sad32:
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.
