The house that Mrs TMRBB is renting is close to a shopping centre type thingy, I shall check it out on the morrow for suitable watering holes.

The pub I am in - The Windmill - has a sign boasting of no price rise due to VAT going back up.  Young's take note.

It's a Greene King pub - and they actually DID lower prices when the VAT came down. Can't say fairer than that!  Two decent main meals for ?8 , as well.

We are now back at the rented house - the heating is slowly warming the place up, but I'm still colder than a Witch's Bosom.

TBH TMR it was a joke.

As for Swindon ~ I never liked the place. The RAF sent me there, I got married for the first time there, my first two (acknowledged) children were born there. RAF demobbed me there ..... I left a year or so later. Horrid place full of porridge wogs and moonrakers.
