Don't worry dear, Sydney the city  ;).  I was merely speculating after the word association of time and lord  whistle:

The Danish word 'lord' (lort) means 'shite'

Not a lot of people know that (except Danes of course).

Nick would know ~ he is descended from a long line of Danes .... which among other things explains his tendency toward the ginger.

I seem to have volunteered to go and cut my dad's privet hedge.

That's about half the day accounted for.

The chances of Tel either disturbing a wasps nest or cutting through the power lead for the trimmer are far less than in your case Nick...  whistle:

OK, the truth.

In my gap year (1973-4) I spent three months on a kibbutz. One week my job was to tend the gardens of the retired kibbutniks. Part of this was hedge trimming. I trimmed one guy's hedge until I came to a bit that was, astonishingly, about 4 feet higher than the rest. I levelled it.  angel1

I then found a gap for his garden path. On the next section of hedge was another bit 4 feet higher than the rest. It seems he was carefully growing an archway to go over his garden gate.  eeek:

In the interests of neatness I levelled that too  redface:.

I then went and hid (they all carried guns  scared2:)

I cut the hedge.

I was then tasked with mowing the grass. Job done.

Had to use upper deck on bus coming home.
Jam-packed with Nonsuch schoolgirls - 12/13/14 year olds
Very noisy, giggling, screeching etc. (the girls not me, hadn't had any Youngs so thus far)
Introduce one dozy bee, bumbling about drunkenly.
Schoolgirls go into panic mode, and upper deck becomes a riot zone.
Don't know which was worse, when the bee landed on me (several times) or when various schoolgirls used me as a climbing frame to escape the poor bee.
After about 10 minutes of utter mayhem, the bee flew out through the window.

All in all, I am knackered.

In as many places as possible would be my advice.
