Spoke to Mrs Snoopy. He is still in hospital. Had to have general anaesthetic and new machine may be gubbed - having MOT at present. She hopes  to fetch him later.

Apparently when she went to fetch him last night they stuck her in a room with a leaflet called "What to do when someone dies", which is obviously very thoughtful of them  rubschin:

Need a new strimmer now.

In our garden we had a big tree. It was chopped down a few months back. Now we had to get the remaining stump/roots out.

Cue the lads with the stump grinder (no sniggering at the back).

It took them nearly 2 hours to get it down 4 inches below ground level. They drank copious amounts of tea. However, the job was done and we were happy. At this was done as a favour (they are friends with our son) they would only accept a score each and off they toddled.

As you can imagine, there was loads of wood chippings everywhere. I started raking them up and bagging them up in strong plastic bags. Now I know that in amongst the chippings there was soil and stones etc. but ye gods, each bag was almost unliftable  - even only half full.  Cue trip to local dump (I checked how busy it was using the "gatecam" Tel told us about). Six bags - and a real struggle to lift them into the car boot. At the dump I asked if I could - out of curiosity - see how much I was carrying by using their weighbridge. They said fine.

HALF A BLOODY TON !

And I have made 2 trips so far today. Prolly need to do 2 more tomorrow.

Now drinking Murphy's to replenish lost fluids.

I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.
