Makes sense to me ~ visit PC World (or similar) and try out various laptops. See which keyboard size suits your style, see what screen size you want, view the definition of screens on various makes, generally get the feel of a number of machines then go home and get best deal on line for your preferred machine. That's what I would do rather than simply order on line and be disappointed because it turned out not to look/feel/work the way you want.
The laptops may all be made in China but they all have differing specs and all "feel" different.

Well that was an expensive and pointless waste of time  cussing:

1. I notice that if I subscribe to T Mobile Broadband I get a free laptop or £500 off a laptop. Pity no bastard mentioned that when I took out and 18 month T mobile contract in November  cussing: cussing: cussing: cussing:

2. I locate the spottiest youth and ask him about the software Tel mentioned for transferring stuff from old to new pooter. He hands me a cable  ::)

3. I leave empty handed and get pulled by the Plod  eeek: They kindly point out that both my rear wheels are wobbling. We kick them, but they are firmly screwed on. Call the AA and they inform me I need a new back axle  Angry9:

WTF is that going to cost?  sad24:

"Free" laptops in return for expensive mobile deals are all over the newspapers Nick. Personally I always avoid anything advertised that heavily but surely you cannot have been unaware of these deals.

I shall make no comment regarding the recently passed MOT

I am just about to embark on a road trip, the South coast is the destination.  I may be gone some time and no I am not doing a Reggie...
