Getting back to Boreham Wood (Borehamwood)
Look at the map:

This shows Watling street ~ mainly a straightened out version of the old Celtic tracks and pathways that the Romans paved. Borehamwood sits on one side of it and Elstree on the other.
A day's march for a Roman legion was between 15 and 18 miles thus you will find settlements at about that distance apart all along Watling Street. Many have names that can be traced to their Latin roots. Some have been completely renamed as Christianisation took over (As St Albans which was, to the Romans, "Verulamian")

Here endeth today's history lesson.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

noooo: Tsk Tsk.

The town was called "Verulamium".

The inhabitants were "Verulamians"

Boreham Wood may well have been a major part of "Verulamian" society of course.

I mostly despair
