I am returned from a most excellent day at the Steam Rally  ;D

Minor wants a traction engine and Minimus fell in love with a mahoosive Indian Chief motor cycle.

I kept an ear open for owl hoots but heard none .... I did make enquiries of a very large, bright red, parrot that was sat on the windscreen of it's owner's vintage car. It listened, with head cocked, to my enquiry as to whether it had heard anyone imitating an owl and it seemed to consider the question, then shat down the windscreen  ..... I took that as a no ..... tho' it may have been expressing an opinion.

Hope all goes well Miss C xxx

Having weird morning - been contacted by ex bf ( from over 20 years ago) who says seen some faceache pictures etc - strange cos he only knows me my maiden name and that is not my name on Faceache   rubschin:

Tis very easy to find you from your maiden name unless it's very common.
A quick check on BMD records will give spouse's name - then you check FR and Faceache LinkedIn etc to confirm.
Takes about 10 minutes.

Off to work early today as yesterday's efforts didn't go as well as planned. Looks like another beautiful day I'm going to miss.  ::)

I can think of many many places I'd rather not be than Tetbury on a sunny day  cloud9:

Far from doing all that I had planned to do I have spent most of the afternoon trying to find a water leak at the village hall...... without success. F*cking Welsh Water cannot attend until 19th July meanwhile the water meter is spinning like a top even though the supply to the building is off ..... racking up a bill so far 4 times our normal.
It appears that the leak must be underground but since it is between the meter and the building we have to pay for both the water wasted and the repairs cussing:

(i) There has never, in living memory, been a drought in this part of Wales.
(ii) Welsh Water will not be coming to repair the leak ~Their function is to identify the location of the (alleged) leak. After they have done that it is up to us.

I have now instructed a local plumber  angel1

[serious] Isn't there a stopcock you can get at before the meter? All our metered troughs have one.[/serious]

Regrettably not ... I have looked. The feed to the meter from the mains is under the road. I cannot close and dig up the road. I can shut the hall off but only at the point where the supply enters the building. The run from meter to the building is about 50 yards and is, apparently, our responsibility. The meter is still spinning even when I tried shutting off the supply to the building, suggesting that the leak, if there is one, is somewhere under the car park which is why we need Welsh Water to come and locate it with their specialist equipment. The local plumber says he does not have such equipment but does have divining rods. ::)

God spare me from comical artisans.  Banghead
