Been to the gym.

The car park there is now occupied by the ex-residents of Dale Park - about 30 caravans.

The centre closes on Sunday for a years worth of refurb/rebuild.

Carrying on from that. The answer is so simple to stop this too. Install and attach those green  horizontal pad things onto the central crash barriers like the ones that are fitted on the most southern section of the M6 that i presume are fitted to reduce glare from headlights on the opposite carriageway?

Touchy subject

The glare deflectors on the M6 are good, and the height of concrete barriers help too. However, Highways Agency bought  many incident screen trailers, then decided they weren't to be used. They are currently mothballed  cussing:  They looked good, and were very effective on the two occasions I used them, only took ten minutes to put up 50m too

Better still were these, 50m out in less than two minutes  cloud9:

No, no, no. noooo:
Incident screens are a complete and utter waste of time and money imho, and could even be a bigger distraction to motorists on the opposite carriageway than a fully visible accident.
They are virtually screaming out for rubberneckers to TRY and get a glimpse of some gore, as they are advertising the fact that there's been a serious incident.
That in itself leads to this so called natural human tendency towards morbid curiosity.

Permanent and full screening off of the carriageways on all of the motorways in the UK is the only answer imo. Sitting on the fence, dilly dallying and doing absolutely bugger all is NOT however. Banghead

I do appreciate that my idea is only applicable and of any use for accidents on the opposite carriageway.
Dunno what the answer is for accidents on the same side that you're on. Shrugs:
