I've spent most of today in A&E with my mal-nourished neighbour (been neighbours for 30 years). Finally persuaded GP that she was close to snuffing it and got her admitted. Unfortunatelt the only relative is her nephew who is not really interested even though I explained the situation to him on Saturday - he's only interested in inheriting.
Neighbour is scared, confused and looks like something out of Belsen - surprised me, how bad she had got- am now upset about that.
Having been through this with family, I'm not a happy bunny and don't need the stress etc.
Am feeling very tired and somewhat emotional.  Banghead

This is most sadly a common and increasingly trait in our society now Tel.
Bloody shitty relatives that don't give a jot for their elderley relatives....UNTIL they're dead.

Had something similar here with my next door neighbour until she was put into a home.
The relatives that lived the other side of the country had an aexcuse for not visiting regulary, but the local ones were/are a disgrace in my eyes. cussing:

Bloody TOP man award to you anyway matey! Most excellent thoughtful and caring of you.

Hope that you are feeling proud of yourself and a lot less stressed today.

Mr C and I are seriously thinking of buying a pop up tent and heading to St Pauls cathedral after the weekend.

I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

Today, I am totally knackered. Not proud of myself, maybe feeling a bit guilty at not putting my foot down sooner. Don't think she would have lasted the week.

Was supposed to be going to work late this afternoon for AGM tis evening.
Just had email asking me to be there by 1 to change the presentation I set up last week and do a complete run through for all the centre users!
I haven't got going yet and now I need to leave in the next hour!

Ey? What you 'rabbitin' about man? confused:

She's your neighbour mate, NOT a relly and NOT really your responsibilty either.
You HAVE done what any decent neighbour/person  would do though, and you should ne proud of yerself for doing what others have failed so miserably to do.

We're proud of you anyways, even if you're not, so up yours! Finger:  ;)  ;D

This shouldn't really be about pride anyway thinking about bit more deeply. It should be all about what is right about being a decent caring thoughtful normal person, and on that score, you've scored top marks and did the right and respectful thing.
BIG man ug to you. cloud9:

[serious]Growler is quite correct, you are doing no more than the natural, moral actions that are so sadly lacking in our society. We need more people who think like that and less like her despicable nephew [/serious]
