Is this a hunt for diminutive slugs or a hunt of limited duration? Are you later undertaking a much longer hunt or singling out the officer class of the slug world?

Is this a hunt for diminutive slugs or a hunt of limited duration? Are you later undertaking a much longer hunt or singling out the officer class of the slug world? It has been raining all day here most unpleasant a mixture of misty drizzle and then more heavy rain, slug and snail heaven. My first hunt was of limited duration, I was on a foray for spinach and courgettes to make soup for lunch. However I stayed out longer than anticipated as I found quite a few slugs some small and some that were definitely officer material I popped them in a pot and then gave them to the chickens as an experiment as I had not seen them eating slugs before. They were keen on the mini ones not keen on the major ones.Later in the afternoon I wanted to cut a load of comfrey to make fertiliser, an excellent opportunity to gather the little buggers and one or two huge ones. A much longer operation but it was successful and the girls were very happy with their slugfest. I spent a further ten minutes or so sitting on a wet chair getting a very wet bum watching the hens, a very pleasurable experience despite the inclement conditions.I hope that this clarifies the situation. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Bet you regret asking now.
Just off to purchase a black bin. Two spiders laydee have taken up residence complete with webs on two of the kitchen windows. Each has a ball of eggs. I don't have the heart to remove them.
