Actually it was in a hideous 70s cabinet thing that had to go. Blue and white formica featured heavily in it's construction. In it's place is a restored cabinet. The radio circuitry will be kept intact for photographs and because IMO it is a thing of beauty.
It reminds me of my father a cantankerous old bugger but into hi-fi, he used to solder a lot the smell of solder brings back so many memories and when he showed me things like this I used to imagine that there was a tiny city within the radio populated by tiny people.
It was prior to my tenth birthday if that makes it any better.
